BSE and International Alliances

Growing consumer demands, the increasing ease for capital to move across international borders and the rapid development of technology have resulted in a trend towards globalization of financial markets.

BSE believes that its program of regional and international strategic alliances will benefit BSE stakeholders, customers and Botswana’s capital markets by facilitating access by regional and international investors to listed Botswana companies and by facilitating the diversification of international portfolios into Botswana’s markets. As a result, BSE has undertaken a number of initiatives in this area:

• Being a member of COSSE (An Association of Southern African Stock Exchanges), ANNA and ASEA
• And looking at ways of forming alliances with other stock exchanges through the World Federation of Stock Exchanges.
